Jill Martin shared Instagram Stories on Dec. 27, 2023, as she tried on wigs after losing her hair, eyebrows and eyelashes during breast cancer chemotherapy. She tried a blonde wig that recalled her earlier look and described the experience as both difficult and playful: “I’m dressing up as myself.”

Contemporaneous reports by Entertainment Tonight and The Independent, both published Dec. 28, 2023, say Martin posted the try-on clips to Instagram Stories the previous day. The reports describe her trying a blonde wig resembling her earlier hair and looking over a selection of wigs.
Martin reportedly said, “I will be dressed up as me,” and, wearing the blonde wig, asked, “This looks just like me, right?” She also discussed trying hair “toppers” for bald patches. The reports do not identify a particular wig or topper she chose.
Why the try-on felt difficult and playful
The coverage presents the experience as emotionally complicated rather than a simple makeover. Martin described it as hard, but also said, “I feel like I could style it myself. It’s fun. It’s like playing dress-up. I’m dressing up as myself.” Entertainment Tonight additionally reported her later comment: “It was a tough day, but I feel good about it.”

These quotations were reported from Martin’s Instagram Stories; they are not independently recorded interview remarks. Together, they convey her effort to find a familiar version of herself while navigating hair loss.
What is known about her treatment timeline
The Dec. 28 reports conflict about chemotherapy timing. The Independent said Martin had four treatments left, while Entertainment Tonight said she completed chemotherapy in late November. The available accounts do not resolve that difference, so her chemotherapy status on Dec. 27 cannot be stated definitively on the basis of these reports.
