Jessa Duggar Seewald said her infant son Edward had an itchy rash on his head and torso and that she was trying a dairy-free diet while breastfeeding. In a November 10, 2025 YouTube video, she reported that his head looked clearer after about a week, though some rash remained on his torso. Her account is a personal observation, not a medical diagnosis or proof that dairy caused the rash.

What Jessa said about Edward’s rash

In a November 10, 2025 YouTube video, Jessa described a rash on Edward’s head and torso. AOL’s November 11 report, which credits PEOPLE as the original article, quoted her saying: “Big update on Edward. He has had this rash. It looks like cradle cap, but it’s not cradle cap because it’s itchy and cradle cap is not supposed to be itchy.”

Jessa said she had stopped eating dairy while breastfeeding for about a week. She reported that Edward’s head looked much better, while some rash remained on his torso: “His skin is looking a lot clearer already.” That is her short-term account of what she observed; it does not establish why the rash appeared or what caused the change.

Why she tried avoiding dairy

Jessa connected her decision to her recollection that an older child had a similar rash that cleared after she went dairy-free. That family experience helps explain her thinking, but it does not establish that Edward has a dairy allergy or that dairy is responsible for his rash. The report contains no clinician’s diagnosis or finding of a cause.

What the cradle-cap comparison can—and cannot—tell us

Mayo Clinic describes cradle cap as scaly patches on an infant’s scalp and says the condition “isn’t painful or itchy.” Its April 30, 2025 guidance also notes that other skin conditions can be confused with cradle cap, including atopic dermatitis, which can be very itchy. This general information cannot identify Edward’s rash or confirm Jessa’s impression.

Mayo Clinic advises contacting a baby’s doctor or another healthcare professional if patches spread to the face or body or home treatment fails. That is general guidance, not an assessment of Edward’s condition.

Edward’s age is reported inconsistently

  • FOUR FILTERS INCLUDED: This pack includes the SnotSucker and 4 hygiene filters, giving you enough to get started. Larger refill packs are available for ongoing use.
  • SALINE HELPS FIRST: If nothing comes out, try saline before suctioning. Press the wide tip against the nostril to create a seal, close the other nostril, and draw steadily.
  • LIMIT SIX USES DAILY: Fridababy recommends using the SnotSucker no more than six times in 24 hours. Wash the tube and mouthpiece in warm, soapy water, air-dry, and add a fresh filter before the next use.
