At CinemaCon in April 2025, they were warm bronde and still defined; by the London premiere of Wednesday Season 2 in July, they looked much closer to invisible. The transformations were striking styling choices—not a literal change in identity.
What changed at CinemaCon
Ortega appeared at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 1, 2025, with brows noticeably lighter than her familiar dark arches. Vogue described them as golden taupe and said the change made her look “almost unrecognizable”; Allure called the color warm bronde and noted that the brows remained visible, rather than turning platinum.
The contrast did much of the work: her cherry-toned dark hair made the lighter brows stand out. Smoky eyes, black mascara and a taupe-lined lip gave the look definition, while her lavender Versace outfit added another color note. Vogue reported that makeup artist Vincent Oquendo drew inspiration from Faye Dunaway and the 1970s.

These are two distinct appearances, not one fixed brow shade. At the London premiere, makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis said the bleached brows came from a project Ortega was working on, and the team decided to keep them for the event. Vogue and Glamour reported that Inglessis aimed to balance an editorial look with a red-carpet moment.

What Ortega’s makeup artist said about the April brows
Oquendo described the CinemaCon process to Allure: “The most important thing that I did for this look was use a cream bleach for her eyebrows and then tone them using a leave-in conditioner and toner.” He said toning helped remove brassiness. Allure also reported that he used Diorshow Brow Styler in Blonde to add taupe color, definition and depth after lightening the brows.
That account describes work done by Ortega’s makeup artist for a specific look; it is not a tested at-home method or a safety recommendation. The reporting does not assess the risks of eyebrow bleaching or individual skin sensitivity.

Why lighter brows make such a visible difference
Brows frame the eyes and help establish contrast and expression. Lightening them reduces that contrast, so dark hair and eye makeup can appear more pronounced while the brow itself recedes. Ortega’s April look retained enough warm color and pencil definition to keep the brows legible; the July premiere look pushed much closer to invisibility. The result was a different balance of features, reinforced by each event’s styling.

For the April CinemaCon appearance, Allure identified Diorshow Brow Styler in Blonde as Oquendo’s brow pencil for restoring definition. It is the product most directly tied to the brow look; the report does not establish its current price or availability.

For the July premiere, Vogue listed products including Dior Forever Skin Foundation and Dior Rouge Contour Lip Liner Pencil in shade 400, as well as Barbara Sturm Glow Drops, a Laduora Lumeo device, an L’Oréal AirLight Pro hair dryer and Kérastase Gloss Absolu. These were reported as parts of the broader glam, not necessary items for recreating the brow effect.
