Jelly Roll has described no single weight-loss secret. His account combines therapy to address overeating, medical care tailored to him, changes to food and exercise, and a health-first goal. Good Morning America reported on January 2, 2026, that he had lost 275 pounds; that is a dated media report, not an independently audited or current measurement.
What Jelly Roll says changed his relationship with food
In Men’s Health’s yearlong account, Jelly Roll said he began working with a therapist and treating overeating as an addiction, including examining what was driving it. He put the shift this way: “Once I started treating food like an addiction, it started changing everything for me.” The feature says his aim was to get healthy, with weight loss a result of that effort—not a standalone target.
Good Morning America quoted him in the Men’s Health short film saying, “I was killing myself. Literally,” and, “I mean, I was eating myself to absolute death.” Those remarks describe how he viewed his own circumstances; they are not a diagnosis or a template for someone else.

In April 2024, Jelly Roll told People, in an interview relayed by Good Morning America / ABC News, that he was walking two to three miles per day on four to six days each week, eating healthfully, and preparing for a 5K. That was an early-stage self-report, not a permanent or prescribed routine.

In October 2024, his coach and chef Ian Larios described walking arena corridors, playing basketball, and boxing. The account does not establish a fixed exercise program or show that any one activity caused a particular amount of weight loss.
Food choices
Larios also described practical food changes, including a banana snack and an air-fried, higher-protein take on Nashville hot chicken. These are examples from reporting about Jelly Roll’s routine, not a named diet or evidence-based plan for readers. Good Morning America’s October 24, 2024 report covers the coach’s account; The Independent also reported on the changes that day.

Did Jelly Roll take Ozempic or other weight-loss medication?
Men’s Health later clarified that Jelly Roll briefly tried weight-loss medication very early in his journey and stopped after two weeks. Avoid the claim that he never used medication: earlier coverage emphasized food and exercise, but the later clarification adds this short trial. The reporting does not identify this as Ozempic, so it does not support saying that he took Ozempic.
The Men’s Health feature also describes blood work, elevated markers, metformin, and testosterone replacement therapy as part of his personal medical story. Those details are not recommendations, and the reporting does not establish that any one treatment caused his weight loss.

What the 275-pound figure means
On January 2, 2026, Good Morning America / ABC News reported that Jelly Roll had lost 275 pounds. Treat that as a milestone reported on that date, not a verified measurement for a later date. The public accounts describe his experience through interviews and documentary coverage, rather than clinical records or an independently audited result.

The useful takeaway is not a celebrity formula but the range of supports involved in his account: therapy and work on eating behavior, medical oversight, food changes, and activity. The coverage does not provide a general clinical protocol or show that copying his choices would produce the same outcome. Medication, hormone treatment, fasting, sauna or cold-plunge practices, and training should not be copied from a celebrity profile; personal medical decisions belong with a qualified clinician.

Men’s Health editorial director Richard Dorment, speaking to ABC News as quoted by GMA, noted that “everybody’s journey is different, that there is no one right way to do it.” That distinction matters: Jelly Roll’s reported progress is his own account, not proof of a universal method.
