The most responsible reading is to keep those facts distinct from what viewers inferred and to give both people room beyond the speculation.
Why viewers started asking about Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber
ABC paired The Bachelorette star Jenn Tran with professional dancer Sasha Farber for Season 33. The show’s format naturally puts celebrity contestants and their dance partners in close collaboration: they rehearse and perform choreographed routines, including Tran and Farber’s Foxtrot to Taylor Swift’s “The Archer.” That on-camera closeness is part of the job, not proof of what either person feels off camera. ABC’s October 10, 2024, announcement describes the pairing and the show’s performance format.
Viewers noticed affectionate moments and discussed them online. Us Weekly reported that audience reaction in September 2024, but audience interpretation remains different from a statement by Tran or Farber. A dance, a clip or a playful exchange can be compelling television without making someone’s private relationship knowable.
What Tran and Farber said during the season
September 2024: trust and friendship
After the September 24 episode, Tran described Farber as an excellent coach and said their bond grew stronger as they worked together. In an interview published September 26, she said, “I mean we’re such good friends, but never say never,” while also saying she was focused on herself and her dance steps. The “never say never” line is an open-ended remark, not confirmation that they were dating. Us Weekly’s account also noted viewers’ reaction to an affectionate TikTok moment; that reaction was not evidence of a relationship.

October 2024: a dated answer, not a permanent status
On October 9, while responding to speculation involving Farber and Jonathan Johnson, Tran told Access Hollywood, “I’m living my life and I’m a single woman and I’m doing whatever I want to do and I’m just so grateful to have such amazing friendships with these men.” That is what she said in that interview at that time; it should not be recast as a statement about every later point in her life. Later that month, Tran described her bond with Farber as a “special relationship,” speaking about honesty, trust and the comfort required to learn ballroom dance together. When asked about dating speculation, the two said they had fun together. The interview did not explicitly establish that they were a couple, and the phrase “special relationship” should be read in the context she gave it—not as a coded confirmation. What the finale interview clarified about Tran staying at Farber’s home
At a November 27, 2024, finale press-line interview, the pair described Tran’s stay at Farber’s home as temporary and practical: late rehearsals meant she needed a place to stay. Their joking exchange about household chores did not establish anything beyond the explanation they gave. What later reports said—and what they did not establish
In June 2025, Us Weekly reported that Tran and Farber had parted ways, citing a source who said they were “no longer seeing each other.” The outlet also reported that Tran was focusing on her studies. TMZ separately cited sources close to the former couple who characterized the split as amicable and said they remained friends. Neither cited report was a direct public breakup announcement from Tran or Farber, so the split account should be attributed to those outlets and their sources rather than presented as a statement the pair made themselves. Us Weekly reported the account on June 10, 2025; TMZ followed on June 11.
In an April 29, 2026, update, Bachelor Nation reported that Tran said in an Instagram Story she was choosing to stay single because of upcoming travel. That was an update about her own dating plans, not a new statement about Farber or their past relationship. Bachelor Nation’s report attributes the account to her Story.

Tran and Farber chose to perform and speak publicly as partners on a widely watched show. That invites discussion of their work and their on-record comments; it does not entitle viewers to settle private questions from gestures, edited clips or proximity. The public record has changed over time, and its parts are not interchangeable: a dated statement from Tran is not a present-day status update, a viewer’s interpretation is not a confirmation, and an anonymous-source report is not a direct announcement.

Tran has also spoken about privacy in a separate context. In November 2024, Us Weekly quoted her objecting to a former fiancé’s release of private texts, saying, “Like, that is such an invasion of privacy.” That comment concerned that incident; it is not evidence that she specifically asked people to stop discussing Farber. It does, however, underscore why public curiosity should not be treated as permission to pry into private life. Us Weekly’s report covers those remarks.
There is no need to turn this story into a verdict about what Tran or Farber secretly felt. Their interviews, performances and reported updates are enough to understand the public timeline. The rest belongs to them.
