Jane’s Addiction canceled the rest of its 2024 reunion tour after an onstage altercation between Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro at a September 13 show in Boston. Four days later, Navarro apologized to tour openers Love & Rockets and Crawlers, and to their crews, for the abrupt end of a tour he had described as magical. In December 2025, the band and Farrell issued new statements about the incident and said they had resolved their differences while pursuing separate creative work.
Why was Jane’s Addiction’s tour canceled?
The Boston show at Leader Bank Pavilion ended after an altercation between Farrell and Navarro on September 13, 2024. Contemporary reporting described Farrell lunging at or striking Navarro; the show did not continue as planned. The band apologized to fans and canceled its next scheduled appearance, in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
On September 16, Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins announced that the remaining U.S. tour would not go ahead. At the time, they cited what they described as a continuing pattern of behavior and Farrell’s mental health difficulties, saying they could not ensure a safe stage environment or reliable performances. That was the bandmates’ stated rationale in 2024, not an independently established medical finding. The Los Angeles Times reported on the cancellation and the group’s initial explanation.
What did Dave Navarro say to Love & Rockets and Crawlers?
On September 17, Navarro apologized directly to both opening acts and their crews for the cancellation’s impact. He wrote: “I would like to personally apologize to Love & Rockets and Crawlers and their crews for such a terrible outcome of what started off as an incredibly magical tour.”

Navarro also singled out Love & Rockets, calling the band heroes and saying it had been an honor to share a stage with them. His message was an apology to the openers and their crews; it was distinct from Farrell’s apology for his conduct at the Boston show. Billboard published Navarro’s statement.
Did Perry Farrell apologize to Dave Navarro?
Yes. On September 16, Farrell apologized for his conduct during the Boston performance, addressing his bandmates—especially Navarro—as well as fans, family, and friends. What changed in the band’s December 2025 statements?
In December 2025, the band revisited its account of why the tour ended. It said it had decided unilaterally, and without telling Farrell, not to continue the tour, and regretted making inaccurate statements about his mental health. Farrell separately apologized to patrons and bandmates for losing his temper and disrupting the show.
The band and Farrell said they had come together to resolve their differences and would pursue separate musical and creative endeavors. Pitchfork reported that the competing lawsuits had been settled and dismissed. Those later statements revise the group’s earlier public account; they do not change the sequence of events that led to the 2024 cancellation.
