Jack White criticized President Donald Trump on Instagram on December 15, 2025, after Trump used a post about filmmaker Rob Reiner’s death to invoke “Trump derangement syndrome” and connect Reiner’s political opposition to the deaths. White condemned the remarks as self-serving; at the time, authorities were investigating the deaths as an apparent homicide, and contemporary reporting said Trump offered no evidence for the suggested connection.
What Jack White said
In his Instagram response, as quoted by Louder and Page Six, White called Trump a “disgusting, vile, egomaniac loser, child.” He also wrote: “To use someone’s tragic death to promote your own vanity and fascist authoritarian agenda is a corrupt and narcissistic sin.” White concluded: “Shame on you trump and anyone who defends this.”

White’s criticism focused on Trump’s use of a death to make a political point. These statements are attributed to White’s Instagram post as reported by those outlets.
What Trump posted about Rob Reiner
Trump posted on Truth Social on December 15, 2025, after Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead at their Los Angeles home the previous day. Trump invoked “Trump derangement syndrome” and suggested Reiner’s opposition to him was connected to the deaths. The post offered no evidence for that suggested link, according to contemporary AP and Reuters reporting.
