Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 7, published October 19, 2025, is the chapter behind the claim that a familiar villain returns—and the tease points to Mahito, not Sukuna. But the available official listing confirms the chapter’s identity and date, not the details of its scene. That distinction matters: “Mahito returns” may describe a dream or another kind of appearance, rather than the original character literally coming back.
What Chapter 7’s listing confirms
VIZ lists the release as Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Chapter 7, dated October 19, 2025, and links to Chapters 6 and 8. This is the sequel’s chapter numbering, not the numbering of the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga.

The chapter listing does not provide a plot synopsis in the accessible page content. A fan-maintained summary describes Tsurugi waking after dreaming of a disappointed Mahito, but that is secondary reporting, not an official chapter description. Without confirmation from the chapter itself, the exact scene—and what “return” means within it—should be treated cautiously.
Why the tease points to Mahito, not Sukuna
The headline’s “not Sukuna” wording signals a different antagonist: Mahito, the curse associated with manipulating souls in the original series. The fan-summary account frames the Chapter 7 appearance as part of Tsurugi’s dream. If that account is accurate, it would be more precise to describe Mahito as appearing in a dream than to say he has literally returned to the story’s present-day events.

The available official listing does not establish whether the figure is the original Mahito, how the appearance occurs, or whether it affects events beyond the reported dream. Those are separate questions from whether the chapter evokes the character. A character’s appearance in a dream, memory, vision, or other scene would not by itself prove a physical resurrection or a continuing role in the sequel.
Where Modulo fits in the series
MANGA Plus credits Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo to Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki and marks the series completed. Its series-level premise places the story in 2086, with the arrival of the Simurians and Okkotsu sorcerers Yuka and Tsurugi at its center. That provides context for the sequel, but it is not a Chapter 7 synopsis and does not verify the Mahito scene.

Where to read or revisit the manga
For Chapter 7, use the official VIZ chapter page to check the chapter directly and judge the scene in context. Readers who want to revisit Mahito’s earlier appearances can browse VIZ Shop’s physical Jujutsu Kaisen volumes. That catalog is for original-series material; it does not establish a print edition of Modulo.
