Bandcamp Friday is a scheduled day when Bandcamp says it waives its revenue share on purchases, so artists and labels receive more of the money. The next dates listed for 2026 are November 6 and December 4. You can support an artist by buying music or merchandise directly from their Bandcamp page; the waiver does not eliminate payment-processing fees.
What is Bandcamp Friday?
Bandcamp Friday is an event during which Bandcamp waives its revenue share on purchases. The company says this lets artists and labels receive more of each sale. Bandcamp announced the policy in December 2025, and Bandcamp Daily reported on September 26, 2026, that fans had paid more than $120 million directly to labels and musicians through the events. Those are company-reported figures, not an independent assessment.
The waiver is not the same as a promise that every cent goes to the artist. Bandcamp’s policy distinguishes its revenue share from payment-processing fees, which still apply. See Bandcamp’s Fair Trade Music Policy for its stated fee terms.
When is the next Bandcamp Friday?
As of October 8, 2026, Bandcamp lists November 6 and December 4, 2026 as the remaining dates of the year. The October 2 event has passed. Check Bandcamp Daily’s Bandcamp Friday announcement for the current schedule in case dates change.

How much of a purchase reaches the artist or label?
Bandcamp’s About page says an average of 82% of a purchase goes to the artist or label, typically within 24–48 hours. That is a general company-reported average, not a guarantee for an individual purchase; Bandcamp says the remainder covers its revenue share and processing fees. Its Friday waiver removes the company’s revenue share for the event, but does not remove processing fees.
Bandcamp has also reported more than $150 million contributed to independent musicians over the previous five years in a December 2025 post. That earlier figure has a different stated scope from the more than $120 million in direct payments through Bandcamp Fridays reported in September 2026, so the totals should not be combined.

How to support an artist on Bandcamp
- Choose someone whose work you want to support. Find the artist or label’s Bandcamp page, or select a particular album or track you want to hear.
- Choose an available purchase. Buy a digital album or track, or pick merchandise such as vinyl, cassettes, or a T-shirt if the artist offers it. Bandcamp says artists can bundle digital music with physical items; a bundle may include streaming access and an optional high-quality download.
- Complete the purchase on the artist or label’s page. Buying directly there is the practical way to support that artist through Bandcamp Friday. The event does not guarantee that every artist offers every format.
Bandcamp says merchandise accounts for half of its sales. Its Artist Guide also reports five-year growth of 438% for vinyl, 232% for cassettes, and 250% for T-shirts, without specifying fixed start and end dates on the page. These are Bandcamp’s figures, not independent industry measurements.
If you miss the date
You can still buy music and merchandise on Bandcamp outside the event. Bandcamp Friday makes a specific difference to the company’s revenue share; it is not the only day you can make a purchase that supports an artist.

What Bandcamp’s figures say about the platform
Bandcamp’s About page, accessed October 8, 2026, reports $225 million spent in the past year, including 15.7 million digital albums, 11.5 million tracks, 1.6 million vinyl records, 850,000 CDs, 250,000 cassettes, and 50,000 T-shirts. The page describes this as spending in the past year without giving a fixed reporting period, so treat it as a current company-page figure rather than a calendar-year total.
