In an interview description for NewsNation’s Banfield, Mitchell-Kidd said a person approached her about selling a particular video. According to her account, it allegedly showed Combs and another person, whom she characterized as more high-profile than Combs. She said the other person was visible and appeared not to know they were being recorded. The description reports her impression; it does not establish what any footage shows. NewsNation’s September 27, 2024 interview description attributes to her the statement, “The other person in the video is very visible.”
Contemporaneous coverage by The Daily Beast also reported her claim. Neither report independently verified the alleged recording.
Who was the unnamed person?
Mitchell-Kidd did not identify the person in the interview description. The available reporting does not establish who she meant, so naming or guessing at someone’s identity would go beyond the evidence.

Has the alleged video been authenticated?
No. The reviewed reporting documents Mitchell-Kidd’s public account, but does not independently establish that the alleged video exists, depicts Combs, or shows another person who was unaware of being recorded. Those details remain claims attributed to her, not verified findings.
What later legal reporting does—and does not—establish
On January 23, 2025, the Associated Press reported that Combs had filed a defamation lawsuit against Courtney Burgess, Mitchell, and Nexstar concerning claims about purported videos. The AP report describes allegations in the complaint and quotes Combs attorney Erica Wolff; it reports a legal dispute, not a court finding that authenticates or disproves the specific alleged video discussed in the 2024 interview.
