Matthew Lewis has publicly said that he still supports Leeds United, and the actor is among the names featured in the Premier League’s 2026 roundup of the club’s famous fans. That list offers a useful starting point for 15 notable people associated with Leeds—but it is not a definitive ranking, and the strength of evidence differs from person to person.
How this list is put together
There is no objective measure of which Leeds United supporter is “most famous,” and the Premier League’s feature is an editorial selection, not a ranked survey. The 15 names below bring together people identified in that feature with additional names from a broader 2021 video compilation. The compilation itself cautions that not everyone shown is a die-hard supporter and that some photographs were taken while people were promoting projects, so its names are leads rather than equal proof of fandom.
Where a source describes a person as an owner or part-owner, that relationship is identified separately from ordinary supporter status. Inclusion here signals a public association with Leeds United; it does not claim that every person has the same depth of involvement.

Russell Crowe
The Premier League’s 2026 feature singles out Crowe in its Leeds entry, labelling it “Leeds United – Russell Crowe.” That is the feature’s editorial designation, not an independently established verdict on who is the club’s most famous supporter. Premier League: famous fans of Premier League clubs

The Harry Potter actor has given direct first-person confirmation of his support. In a March 2013 interview, he said: “I’m very keen to stick to my roots – I still support Leeds Rhinos, Leeds United, so my life hasn’t changed too much.” The interview establishes what Lewis said about his fandom at that time; it does not establish his current match attendance. Chris Moyles
The broadcaster is among the additional names circulated in a 2021 celebrity-supporter video compilation. Because its publisher warns that some people shown may not be die-hard fans, the compilation supports noting the association but not making a stronger claim about his commitment. Josh Warrington
The Leeds-born boxer is another name included in the 2021 compilation. Its caveat applies: the video is not proof that every person pictured is an equally committed supporter. Woodwood Productions’ 2021 celebrity supporters compilation
Is Matthew Lewis a Leeds United fan?
Yes: Lewis himself said in the March 2013 “My Leeds Interview” that he still supported Leeds United, alongside Leeds Rhinos. That is the clearest person-specific confirmation among the names in this list. The interview is evidence of his stated support in 2013, not a record of his current attendance or activity.
Why the list is not a definitive top 15
The Premier League feature is the strongest current roster source here, while the 2021 video casts a wider net but explicitly cautions against treating every appearance as proof of committed fandom. Neither source supplies a shared standard for measuring fame, support, or club involvement. The order above is therefore for readability, not a ranking; the “15” is the requested editorial format, not a published count of Leeds United celebrity supporters.
Leeds United’s own feature on author and lifelong supporter Jon Howe offers useful context for the club’s wider fan culture: a connection to Leeds need not depend on being born in the city. Howe is included there as cultural context, not as a celebrity-ranking candidate. Leeds United: Jon Howe
