What the 2024 extension included
Announced on January 16, 2024, the extension added 35 performances across the United States and Canada. Jackson’s announcement framed the tour around her 50th anniversary in entertainment and milestones associated with The Velvet Rope, janet. and Rhythm Nation. It also said the 2023 run had 36 sold-out shows. Ticketmaster’s contemporary coverage likewise described the new itinerary as a 35-date North American leg. [Grand Casino Arena; Ticketmaster]
Nelly was announced as special guest on every date of the added leg. The venue announcement also reproduced praise attributed to the Chicago Tribune: “Being a performer, a showstopper, a true delight is not just what Janet Jackson does. It is who she is.” It did not identify an individual writer, so the attribution remains to the publication. [Grand Casino Arena announcement]
