That premise makes Modulo a sequel with a distinct point of entry: it keeps the world of jujutsu sorcery but introduces contact with beings from beyond Earth as a new source of conflict. The time jump and Okkotsu leads also give it room to change the series’ perspective rather than simply repeat the original’s setup. Whether that shift works for a reader will depend in part on their interest in a new generation and a conflict built around an unfamiliar kind of visitor.

Is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo worth reading?
For readers who want more of the Jujutsu Kaisen setting but are open to a substantial change in premise, Modulo has a clear reason to exist: it combines sorcery with an extraterrestrial arrival, follows Okkotsu leads, and does so in a short completed run. That combination is more specific than a routine continuation, and the 2086 setting gives the sequel a natural way to approach the world from a later point in its history.
The same choices may not suit everyone. A reader looking primarily for the original cast or for another curse-centered story may find the new leads and Simurian contact less immediately familiar. The official synopsis establishes those ingredients, but does not show how the series develops them chapter by chapter. Treat the premise as a useful guide to the kind of sequel it is, not as proof of the quality or emotional payoff of its execution.

Does Yuji Itadori appear, and what happens in the ending?
The official synopsis and publication listings cited here do not establish Yuji’s precise role in the story’s final battle, or whether he is involved in an extraterrestrial fight. They also do not establish whether the ending is happy, bittersweet, or unresolved. VIZ’s listing confirms that chapter 25 is the final chapter; a chapter listing is not a description of its events.
That means the claim that Yuji’s extraterrestrial battle “finally gives fans a happy ending” should not be taken as a publisher-confirmed account of the finale.
