The four-ingredient label counts the noodles, two dairy ingredients and chives; salt and pepper are seasonings. Recent food coverage identifies it as Jackie Kennedy’s casserole, but that attribution should be understood as a reported association rather than a fully confirmed historical record.
Food Republic’s account names the dish and describes its reported ingredients. Cookist’s recipe coverage also lists the four core ingredients.
Why is it connected to Jackie Kennedy?
Secondary food coverage associates the casserole with a 1961 White House dinner honoring Lee Radziwill and Prince Stanisław Radziwiłł. The reported menu included crabmeat ravigote, asparagus hollandaise and roast beef fillet alongside the casserole. Dining and Cooking’s March 18, 2025 article describes that dinner connection, as does Food Republic. The accounts available here do not provide primary White House documentation to confirm the menu or establish that Jackie Kennedy personally prepared or served the dish.

What is the recipe’s publication trail?
A newsletter account says the recipe in circulation stems from The President’s Cookbook, published in 1968. Its writer discusses the connection to the 1961 dinner, but the original cookbook page is not available here for direct verification. What does the casserole taste like—and what is it compared with?
The combination suggests a creamy, tangy noodle bake: egg noodles provide the base, cottage cheese and sour cream bring the dairy richness, and chives add a fresh, savory note. Food Republic compares it with Polish lazy-man pierogies and Jewish kugel. Those are useful comparisons for picturing a comforting noodle-and-dairy dish, not evidence that Casserole Marie Blanche derives from either tradition.

The coverage establishes the core ingredients, but the excerpts do not supply a verified set of measurements, oven temperature, cooking time or serving size.
