At the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 23, 2025, host Kristen Bell opened with a parody of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” from Frozen. Recasting its central question as “Do you want to be an actor?”, she used the number to celebrate the long route from small early roles to a breakthrough.
What did Kristen Bell sing at the 2025 SAG Awards?
Bell adapted “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”, the song from the 2013 animated film Frozen, into an opening number about an actor’s career journey. Us Weekly reported her spoken introduction: “This is a night to honor the actor’s journey which is long, and it can be arduous, and it leads you to the question,” before she sang, “Do you want to be an actor? You are clearly not alone.” (Us Weekly; Time)
The familiar tune gave the monologue a way to frame acting as a path that can begin with brief, overlooked, or uncredited work. The performance paired the parody with footage of early appearances by performers who later became well known.
