She announced the result on November 8, 2025, saying she had come close and planned to keep studying.
What did Kim Kardashian say about her bar exam results?
Kardashian took the California bar exam in July 2025 and shared her result in an Instagram statement on November 8. The Los Angeles Times reported that she wrote: “Well… I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV.”
She said she was “so close to passing the exam” and described the result as motivation to try again. In the same statement, she wrote: “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination.”
How did Kardashian become eligible to take the California bar?
Kardashian followed California’s legal apprenticeship pathway rather than attending a conventional law school. The Associated Press reported in May 2025 that she had completed an apprenticeship and was eligible to sit for the exam. California permits people to study under a lawyer or judge as an alternative to law school. Her mentor, Jessica Jackson, described Kardashian’s schedule as 18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year, for six years.

What was the passing score for the July 2025 California bar exam?
For the July 2025 administration, the State Bar of California set the passing threshold at 1,390 out of 2,000 scaled points. That is the exam’s general threshold, not Kardashian’s score. The State Bar’s unsuccessful-applicant bulletin does not disclose her individual score, and her description of being “so close” does not establish how many points she earned.
The bulletin lists the written exam subjects as Trusts, Torts, Business Associations, Constitutional Law and Professional Responsibility, alongside a performance test requiring an advice letter to a client on real property. Written scores are scaled to account for differences in exam difficulty and grading between administrations. The State Bar also describes phased grading, including a second read for scores in a specified qualifying range.
