What did Kim Kardashian wear?
Coverage described several outfits, rather than one look that can stand in for the entire celebration. On July 12, 2024, The Indian Express reported Kardashian in a red lehenga as she attended with her sister Khloé Kardashian, who wore white and gold. Vogue India’s July 13 fashion coverage described Kardashian in a custom scarlet red sari by Manish Malhotra for day one, followed by a dusty peach embroidered lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani for day two. The accounts may refer to different looks or event days.

What was the Ambani wedding dress code?
Hindustan Times reported on July 12, 2024, that details shared by the Ambani family and a family spokesperson gave the guest dress code as “Resplendently Indian.” The article also described the event theme as “A Celebration of India – An Eternal and Enduring Civilization.” The published wording provides context for guests’ attire, but the available report does not say that wearing red violated it.
The earlier pre-wedding celebrations had separate daily dress codes, mood boards and fashion assistance, according to the Associated Press on March 1, 2024. That is background about those festivities; it does not establish a specific color rule for the July wedding.

Is red forbidden for guests at Indian weddings?
The sources covering this controversy support a narrower conclusion: some critics viewed Kardashian’s red outfits as inappropriate because red is often associated with brides in Indian weddings. They do not establish one rule for every Indian wedding or every Indian community. Wedding customs and host preferences can differ, so a reaction to one high-profile event should not be treated as a blanket etiquette standard.
