KSI publicly objected in October 2025 after Misfits Boxing announced Andrew Tate as its new CEO. Tate said he had taken the company from KSI, but the announcement and Tate’s claim do not independently establish that a formal transfer of control took place.
What did KSI say about Andrew Tate becoming Misfits CEO?
On 31 October 2025, KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, reacted angrily on X to an announcement presenting Tate as Misfits Boxing’s new CEO. He wrote: “This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Let’s make ANDREW TATE THE CEO OF MISFITS?!? ARE YOU F***ING SERIOUS?” KSI also criticized fellow Misfits founder Mams Taylor. The Independent reported on KSI’s reaction.
Did Tate formally replace KSI?
Tate claimed the role in an announcement video, saying: “Welcome to your new CEO, it wasn’t a hostile takeover but it was certainly planned.” He later said, “KSI tweeted something that annoyed me three years ago, so long story short: I took his company from him.” Those are Tate’s claims; the reporting does not independently verify the corporate mechanics or establish a formal transfer of control. Misfits’ announcement presented Tate as replacing KSI, and reporting described KSI as no longer CEO at that time. The sources do not confirm Misfits’ official CEO or ownership structure as of 8 October 2026.
Why was Tate’s appointment announced then?
The announcement coincided with Tate’s planned Misfits heavyweight bout against Chase DeMoor in Dubai on 20 December 2025. DeMoor later won the fight by majority decision. The Independent reported the result; its earlier coverage placed the announcement alongside the planned bout in its account of KSI’s response.

How did Misfits co-president Mams Taylor defend the decision?
In comments reported on 4 November 2025, Misfits co-president Mams Taylor defended letting Tate fight under the promotion’s banner. Taylor said: “My job is to provide an entertainment platform with action, with real fights, and that’s it.” This was Taylor’s stated rationale for the decision. The Independent reported his comments.
What legal context was reported about Andrew Tate?
A separate Independent report said the UK Crown Prosecution Service brought 21 charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate in 2025. The report said Andrew’s charges related to three alleged victims. These are allegations, not findings of guilt, and both brothers deny the allegations. Read The Independent’s report on the charges.
