What Little Feat means by “The Last Farewell Tour”
The name sounds definitive, but the explanation accompanying the announcement is more qualified. The Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) event description says, “With tongue stuck somewhat in cheek, Little Feat announces ‘The Last Farewell Tour,’ which will begin in April 2026.” It goes on to say the announcement is “definitely not an absolute, never-gonna-play again statement.”

According to that same event description, the wind-down will take several years, and Little Feat intends to “continue to perform and record as long as they are able.” The phrase “farewell” refers to retiring from the travel of touring. DPAC does not identify an individual speaker for these statements, so they are best attributed to the event description rather than to a named band member.
That distinction matters: the announcement does not set a final show or a fixed date when the group will cease playing. It describes a multi-year transition away from touring travel while leaving room for the band to perform and record.
