Liam Gallagher’s August 25, 2024 posts fueled speculation about an Oasis reunion, but they were not confirmation of a tour. Oasis made the official announcement two days later: the band would reunite for Live ’25. The reunion tour began in July 2025, and in September 2026 Live Nation announced that Oasis would return to the live stage in 2027.
What Liam Gallagher said as reunion rumors spread
On August 25, 2024, amid reports that Oasis might reunite for UK shows, Liam responded to fan questions with “News to me” and “I know nothing.” He then posted a string of teasing comments, including “Your scared how do you think I feel,” “See you down the front you big fanny,” “Nxt Friday,” and “World domination.”
The post that most directly played on the band’s split was: “I never did like that word FORMER.” Rolling Stone reported these comments as the rumors gathered pace, but none independently confirmed that a reunion or tour had been agreed. Rolling Stone’s August 25, 2024 report captured the uncertainty in the moment.
Why the posts were not an announcement
Liam’s replies and posts were suggestive, but ambiguous. The distinction matters: speculation about a possible reunion was already circulating, and his comments gave it momentum without establishing that Oasis had committed to performing again.

In the same Rolling Stone report, Noel Gallagher’s position from a June 2023 interview offered earlier context: “I’ve put it out there that if Liam really wants to do it, he should fucking call me, and he hasn’t called me, so I’m just assuming that he doesn’t want it either.” That statement predates the reunion and should not be read as a description of the brothers’ position in August 2024.
When Oasis confirmed the reunion
Oasis announced the Live ’25 tour on August 27, 2024. That official announcement—not Liam’s earlier posts—confirmed the reunion. The band’s official Live ’25 page documents the tour.
