The sold-out show at Los Angeles’s Intuit Dome marked both the weekly program’s move to Netflix in multiple territories and the first stop in the year-long farewell Cena had announced in 2024.
When did John Cena’s retirement tour start?
It started at the January 6, 2025, Raw premiere on Netflix. WWE and Netflix called it Cena’s “year-long farewell tour” in their January 9 announcement. “Farewell tour” was the companies’ wording; the premiere was not itself a retirement match.
What happened at the Netflix premiere?
The event took place before a sold-out crowd at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Cena appeared alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, The Undertaker, Logan Paul and Travis Scott. The announced match results included:
- Rhea Ripley defeated Liv Morgan.
- Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa in tribal combat.
- CM Punk defeated Seth Rollins.
- Jey Uso defeated Drew McIntyre.
WWE and Netflix described the event as the highest-grossing WWE arena event at that time and the highest-grossing non-Premium Live Event in merchandise sales. Those records were company-reported.

How many people watched the Raw Netflix debut?
WWE and Netflix reported 4.9 million global Live+1 views. Their release defines a view as total viewing hours divided by program runtime—a measure intended as a proxy for average-minute audience, not a count of unique people. The figure excluded 92 countries and territories where Netflix did not yet distribute WWE.
For the United States, WWE and Netflix cited 2.6 million households in Live+SD, measured by VideoAmp. They compared that with Raw’s 2024 average of 1.2 million U.S. households, also attributed to VideoAmp. This household figure is separate from the global Live+1 views. WWE and Netflix also reported 223 million social views on premiere day.

Where can you watch WWE Raw?
Netflix became Raw’s exclusive home in a number of territories in January 2025. The companies’ 2024 partnership announcement named the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Latin America for the January launch, with expansion to additional territories over time. Their January 2025 announcement also named Australia among the territories where Netflix was the exclusive home. Availability depends on location and date, so check Netflix’s Raw listing for current local availability. The announcements also described Netflix as carrying WWE shows and specials outside the United States where available; rights for other WWE programming should not be assumed to be identical to Raw’s.
