LEGO says it has no light, sound or digital play functions; its buttons, cartridges and game screens are recreated as parts of a collectible build.
What LEGO Game Boy set 72046 includes
The 421-piece set recreates Nintendo’s original Game Boy at near 1:1 scale and is listed for ages 18+. The model includes familiar details such as the +Control Pad, A and B buttons, SELECT and START controls, contrast adjustment, volume dial and Game Pak slot. LEGO’s announcement and its U.S. product page describe it as a building and display set.
Interchangeable display pieces
Builders can display either of two brick-built Game Paks: The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening or Super Mario Land. The set also includes corresponding display screens, plus a Nintendo start screen, and a stand. These are display options, not playable games or functioning screens. Nintendo’s announcement also identifies the set and its themed display elements.
Size, price and availability
The finished model measures over 5.5 in. (14 cm) high, 3.5 in. (9 cm) wide and 1 in. (3 cm) deep, making it a compact shelf display. LEGO announced the set on July 23, 2025, with a purchase date of October 1, 2025. Its announcement listed launch prices of €59.99, $59.99 and £54.99; Nintendo separately listed a U.S. regular price of $59.99. Those are dated regional figures, not a guarantee of today’s price elsewhere.
