The Apothecary Diaries season 2 took first place in DMM TV’s 2025 anime viewing ranking. The list, announced February 27, 2026, reflects anime viewing data on DMM TV from January 1 through December 31, 2025—not a nationwide ranking across streaming services.

DMM TV’s February 27, 2026 announcement says the full top 30 appeared on a dedicated site. English renderings above follow commonly used or editorially rendered titles; the Japanese title is retained where an official English localization is not established here.
What DMM TV’s ranking measures
DMM says it independently compiled the list from viewing data for anime titles on its service during the 2025 calendar year. Its announcement does not disclose raw viewing totals, a weighting formula, or an independent audit. The ranking therefore shows which titles performed best under DMM TV’s own measure; it is not a critic poll, ratings list, or count of all anime viewers in Japan.
Why another Japanese streaming ranking can look different
ABEMA published its own 2025 anime rankings, using anime works broadcast or streamed on that service between January 1 and December 31, 2025. It separated results by total plays, average plays per episode, and average comments per episode. In ABEMA’s total-play ranking, Atashin’chi placed first; by average plays per episode, The Apothecary Diaries season 2 placed first and season 1 second.

#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Those results do not conflict with DMM TV’s top 10: the services use different viewing audiences and metrics. ABEMA’s February 13, 2026 release reports rank positions, not numeric play counts.
What the mix of titles says—and does not say
The top 10 combines new or recent seasons with an older catalog title: HUNTER×HUNTER ranked eighth. That makes the list useful as a snapshot of viewing on one service, where both current releases and available back-catalogue anime can draw audiences. It does not show why viewers chose a title or how many watched it, because DMM has not published those details in the cited announcement.

DMM TV details in the announcement
DMM describes DMM TV as a general video service centered on anime, with variety programming, 2.5D works, stage performances, musicals, dramas, and films. Its February 2026 announcement stated that DMM Premium cost ¥550 per month with direct registration and ¥650 per month through the App Store or Google Play. It also reported about 6,300 anime works and 210,000 total entertainment titles as of January 2026. These are dated company figures, not guarantees of current prices or catalog size.
The same release attributes two promotional comparisons to outside surveys: a second-place domestic subscription-catalog-size claim to GEM Partners, based on total episodes across movies, dramas, and anime in an October 2024 survey; and a claim of the largest number of new anime available for subscription viewing for three consecutive years to Communications Science Laboratory, citing survey periods of December 1–19 in 2023, 2024, and 2025. DMM’s release provides those attributions; the underlying studies are not independently assessed here.
