PerthNow published the line in a BANG Showbiz item labeled “Celebrity Gossip.” The report attributes this remark to Fisher:
“My only complaint about McConnix (McConaughey) is that he does a better Australian accent than me,” she admitted. “And he tells all these anecdotes that are hilarious, he’s very funny, in this Aussie accent, and I’m just a bit jelly (jealous).”
The playful point is McConaughey’s storytelling: Fisher says his humorous anecdotes in an Australian accent are what leave her mock-jealous. It is not presented as a serious judgment of either actor’s accent.
