Tristan Thompson said in April 2026 that the mothers of his children, including Maralee Nichols, have one another’s contact information and are “in a great place.” His reported comments suggest that communication channels are available, but they do not establish how often he and Nichols speak—or whether Nichols shares his description.

What Thompson said about contact

In an April 2, 2026 report about his appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast, ¡HOLA! quoted Thompson describing the mothers of his children as a close group: “We’re all friends. We’re all family.” He also said, “We all have each other’s contact info. We’re all in a great place because I think that’s the number one thing,” and characterized co-parenting as “great.” ¡HOLA!’s report includes Nichols among the mothers he was discussing.

That is Thompson’s account, as quoted by the outlet. It indicates that he says contact information is shared; it does not reveal whether he and Nichols communicate regularly, what they discuss, or by which method. The report does not include a current response from Nichols, so it cannot confirm that she describes their contact in the same way.

What the earlier co-parenting record establishes

Thompson’s public statement after paternity was established

In January 2022, Thompson publicly acknowledged that he fathered Theo with Nichols and said he took responsibility. In the statement reproduced by Us Weekly, he added that he looked forward to “amicably raising our son.” Us Weekly’s January 2026 report revisited that statement. It records his stated intention at the time, rather than proving what their present-day communication is like.

The December 2022 support settlement

The Independent reported that the settlement provided for $9,500 in monthly child support, Nichols having sole custody as reported at the time, and Thompson covering part of her legal costs. The article described terms reported by other outlets; it should not be read as a complete or current account of their parenting arrangements. The Independent’s December 2022 report does not establish how frequently the parents communicate.

The 2024 report about alleged missed payments

In March 2024, Us Weekly reported that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered Thompson to pay $57,916, citing court documents the outlet said it obtained. The report described the amount as tied to alleged missed payments from September 2023 through January 2024. It does not establish whether any balance remains unpaid or what the current payment status is. Us Weekly’s March 2024 account is historical legal reporting, not evidence about the frequency of current contact.

What Nichols’s recent public post shows—and what it does not

Us Weekly reported that Nichols posted photos of outings with Theo on Instagram in January 2026. The post documents time she spent with her son; it does not show that Thompson was present or establish direct communication between the parents. The report on Nichols’s photos and Thompson’s earlier statement offers family context, not confirmation of their private co-parenting routine.
