Last.fm offers annual listening reports called Last.year through its mobile apps. Like Spotify Wrapped, they turn a year of listening into a personal recap—but Last.fm’s figures come from music captured in your Last.fm profile, not Spotify’s account data. The exact release date and full contents of Last.fm’s 2022 report are not established by its official pages.
What Last.fm Year 2022 means
Last.fm’s year-in-review feature is called Last.year. The service’s Android and iOS app descriptions list Last.week and Last.year reports alongside personal artist, album and track charts. Its overview also promotes listening history, real-time stats and weekly reports. Last.fm’s overview and its Track My Music page describe those features.
Last.fm defines scrobbling as tracking the music you listen to and automatically adding it to your music profile. Your annual report therefore reflects listening that Last.fm captured in that profile; it is not a universal record of everything you heard across services or devices.
How it differs from Spotify Wrapped
| Aspect | Last.fm Last.year | Spotify Wrapped 2022 |
|---|---|---|
| Data source | Listening recorded as scrobbles in your Last.fm profile. | Your listening activity on Spotify. |
| Timing | The official pages reviewed confirm annual reports but do not establish the 2022 report’s precise release date. | Spotify published its global 2022 trends announcement on November 30, 2022. |
| Presentation | Annual reports and personal artist, album and track charts are listed in Last.fm’s app descriptions. | Spotify documented interactive features including Listening Personality and Audio Day. |
| Plan access | The reviewed Last.fm pages do not establish whether any 2022 report elements required Pro. | Not stated in the cited 2022 Spotify announcements. |
Spotify said its 2022 Wrapped included 16 Listening Personality types. It also reported that artist thank-you videos expanded from about 100 participating artists in 2021 to more than 40,000 in 2022. Those figures describe Spotify’s product, not Last.fm’s report. Spotify’s 2022 trends announcement also named Bad Bunny as its most-streamed global artist that year; that platform-wide ranking is not a personal Last.fm statistic.

How to view your Last.year report
- Make sure the music you want counted is being scrobbled to your Last.fm profile. Last.fm lists connected music services and tracking through its web client, app or browser plugin on its Track My Music page.
- Open Last.fm’s Android or iOS app and look for the Last.year listening report. The app descriptions list annual reports and personal charts; exact labels or placement may vary with the current app version.
- Check that the profile contains the listening history you expect before treating the recap as complete. A report can only reflect activity Last.fm recorded.
Last.fm’s reviewed pages promote Pro separately but do not specify which report features, if any, require it. They also do not establish that every user received identical access to every 2022 report element, so check the current app and account details rather than assuming a particular plan boundary.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is—and is not—verified about the 2022 edition
Official Last.fm pages establish that Last.year reports exist, but they do not verify the exact 2022 launch date or a complete list of cards and statistics shown in that edition. Spotify’s announcement date and feature list cannot fill those gaps: they describe Spotify Wrapped, a separate service. A community post asking whether Last.fm had made a 2022 year-in-review recap is one example of the question, not official confirmation of timing or contents.
