The Rock announced New Orleans as WrestleMania 42’s host city on Friday Night SmackDown on February 21, 2025. That was the original plan: WWE later changed the event to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, scheduled for April 18–19, 2026.
What was announced on SmackDown?
During the February 21, 2025 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced that WrestleMania 42 would come to New Orleans. WWE’s original announcement named the Caesars Superdome and set the event for April 11–12, 2026. WWE’s announcement of the New Orleans plan gave those venue and date details.

Where is WrestleMania 42 now?
WWE’s June 11, 2025 update replaced the New Orleans plan with Las Vegas. WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for Allegiant Stadium on April 18–19, 2026. WWE said the announcement was celebrated during Monday Night Raw—it was not the SmackDown announcement. See WWE’s updated location announcement.

Is WrestleMania-week SmackDown at the stadium?
No. WWE’s schedule lists the separate WrestleMania-week Friday Night SmackDown for April 17, 2026, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. That is a different show and venue from the two-night WrestleMania event at Allegiant Stadium. WWE’s WrestleMania-week schedule lists the event locations.

WWE’s June 11, 2025 announcement said WrestleMania 41 drew 124,693 fans over two nights at Allegiant Stadium. That figure is WWE’s reported attendance for WrestleMania 41 in 2025; it is not WrestleMania 42 attendance.
