HYBE x Geffen says Manon Bannerman is taking a temporary hiatus from KATSEYE group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing. The group said it would continue its scheduled activities, but the announcement gave no diagnosis or return date. It describes a temporary hiatus—not a confirmed permanent departure.
What did HYBE x Geffen announce?
In a notice posted on KATSEYE’s Weverse account, HYBE x Geffen said that, “After open and thoughtful conversations together,” Manon would take “a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing.” The company said it supports the decision and that KATSEYE would continue scheduled activities during her absence. It added that the group looked forward to being together again “when the time is right.” Read the notice on Weverse.
Universal Music Japan also published the English statement with a Japanese translation on February 21, 2026. See Universal Music Japan’s post.

Why is Manon on hiatus?
The stated reason is that she is focusing on her health and wellbeing. The notice does not give a specific diagnosis, medical details, or any further explanation. It also does not establish that a dispute or another rumored cause led to the hiatus, so those claims should not be treated as confirmed.

Has Manon left KATSEYE permanently?
The announcement calls the break a “temporary hiatus” from group activities. It does not announce a permanent departure or a change to KATSEYE’s lineup. At the same time, the wording does not provide a fixed end date; it leaves a return open without specifying when it might happen.

When will Manon return?
HYBE x Geffen did not announce a return date. In an Allure interview in June 2026, member Sophia Laforteza said Manon should have the time and space she needs and that the group should not make assumptions or set anything in stone. Us Weekly reported Sophia’s comments, including: “She really deserves that and the door is always open.” That is Sophia’s perspective in an interview, not a company schedule or a confirmed return plan. Us Weekly’s report.
What have KATSEYE and the media said since the announcement?
- June 2026: Sophia Laforteza’s interview comments, reported by Us Weekly, emphasized giving Manon time and avoiding assumptions.
- August 2026: International Business Times UK reported that Lara Raj said Manon was included in the KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS documentary. Documentary inclusion alone does not show that Manon had resumed group activities. Read the report.
- August 31, 2026: EL PAÍS reported that Manon remained absent from group activities at that time and was not expected at then-upcoming tour dates. That report describes the situation as of its publication date, not every later performance. Read the EL PAÍS report.
- October 6, reported October 7, 2026: Teen Vogue described a brief Paris Fashion Week exchange in which Daniela Avanzini reportedly told a fan she missed Manon and wished her well, then said “I’m not sure” when asked why Manon was no longer in KATSEYE. This was a reported interaction, not a new official statement or a confirmed explanation. Read Teen Vogue’s account.
These updates are different kinds of evidence: the hiatus wording comes from HYBE x Geffen’s notice, Sophia’s remarks are interview comments, and Daniela’s words are reported from a brief fan interaction. None supplies a confirmed return date.
