When did Catherine announce her cancer was in remission?
On 14 January 2025, Catherine visited The Royal Marsden in London, where she had received treatment. She met patients and staff, announced that she was in remission, and said she remained focused on recovery. ITV News described the visit as her first official engagement of 2025. Catherine and William were also announced as joint patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
In her statement, transcribed by ITV News, she said: “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery.” Her wording made clear that recovery remained her focus; it did not say that it was complete.
