Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo does not have a verified, singular “biggest secret” established by its official summaries. The strongest confirmed clue is a parallel: Shueisha’s Volume 3 synopsis says Simurian Kalyans resemble cursed spirits, and that perceived similarity helps set the story on a path toward conflict. Read as a thematic signal rather than a confirmed twist, it asks whether the newcomers’ world is as separate from jujutsu as it first appears.
What is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo hiding in plain sight?
The best-supported answer is the uneasy resemblance between Simurian Kalyans and cursed spirits. Shueisha’s official Volume 3 synopsis makes that comparison explicit and links it to the coming conflict. It does not call the resemblance a secret or disclose a single hidden explanation for it. The “secret in plain sight” reading is therefore an interpretation of the premise, not a confirmed canonical reveal.

That distinction matters: the official summaries establish the parallel, but not what ultimately causes it or what it means for the series’ supernatural rules. The story invites readers to question the boundary between the Simurians’ beliefs and the familiar jujutsu system; the synopsis alone does not settle that question.
How the parallel fits Modulo’s premise
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is set in 2086, when the Simurians arrive on Earth and come into contact with jujutsu sorcerers. Shueisha’s Volume 1 synopsis introduces 50,000 refugees from space and the Okkotsu siblings, Yuka and Tsurugi, investigating an incident. MANGA Plus also identifies the arriving people as Simurians.
#1 Best Overall
By Volume 3, the official synopsis puts the resemblance between Simurian Kalyans and cursed spirits at the center of a widening crisis. It describes conflict involving Dabura and Mahoraga, while Tsurugi fights Maru in an attempt to save Yuka. That progression gives the parallel plot weight: it is not just a surface-level comparison, but a stated source of tension.
What is confirmed—and what remains interpretation
- Confirmed: The official premise brings an alien people, the Simurians, into contact with jujutsu sorcerers.
- Confirmed: Shueisha’s Volume 3 synopsis says Simurian Kalyans and cursed spirits are perceived as similar, and connects that similarity to conflict.
- Interpretation: The parallel may challenge assumptions about where the familiar jujutsu system ends and the Simurians’ beliefs begin.
- Not established by the official summaries: A single canonical answer to what the similarity means, or proof that the story is concealing one definitive “biggest secret.”
A separate claim that Modulo revisits the original manga’s U.S. government and cursed-energy thread has appeared in secondary coverage, but the official material cited here does not verify it. It should not be treated as the explanation for the Kalyan–cursed spirit parallel without chapter-level confirmation.

Where to start reading Modulo
Shueisha’s official comics listing includes Volumes 1, 2, and 3. The first volume is the natural starting point for the setup and the Okkotsu siblings’ investigation. For readers who prefer digital chapters, VIZ has an official title page, but it says which latest chapters are free depends on the reader’s location. Check the relevant publisher page for current editions, access, and availability.
