Spoilers: This is a historical guide to the April 2024 pre-release discussion of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 258, not a preview of an upcoming chapter. The debate centered on Yuji’s Black Flashes, Sukuna’s restored Malevolent Shrine, and how Yuji withstands it. Those plot details come from a secondary spoiler account; consult the official chapter for the definitive version.
What the Chapter 258 leak discussion covered
The Jujutsushi community thread, titled “Chapter 258 – Pre-Release Leaks Thread,” was posted on April 25, 2024. It gathered readers’ reactions and theories before the official English release. The thread was explicitly for discussion: its moderators asked users to keep leaked material in the megathread rather than spreading it elsewhere. Read the archived discussion thread.

ComingSoon’s spoiler guide, also published April 25, 2024, describes the chapter’s reported events. Because that guide is a secondary account and the official chapter text was not directly inspected for this article, treat the following as a spoiler summary attributed to that guide, not an independently verified transcription.
Reported plot beats
- Yuji’s Black Flashes are described as striking the boundary between Sukuna’s soul and Megumi’s.
- Sukuna regains access to Malevolent Shrine, and Yuji uses New Shadow Style: Simple Domain to withstand the domain.
- A flashback addresses reverse cursed technique and soul-swapping training, and explains how Yuji retained jujutsu knowledge after Sukuna inhabited his body.
- The guide describes a cliffhanger involving flames. The exact meaning and outcome prompted speculation in the discussion, but readers’ theories are not confirmed events.
ComingSoon’s Chapter 258 spoiler guide is the source for these reported beats. Read the official chapter to confirm the sequence and wording.

What readers debated—and what remains speculation
Comments in the megathread focus on Yuji’s rapid development and how the group’s training could account for it, alongside Sukuna’s restored domain and the fire-related cliffhanger. The flashback’s explanations gave readers context for Yuji’s abilities, while the cliffhanger invited predictions. Comments, jokes, and proposed explanations are reader interpretations; they should not be presented as canon unless the official chapter establishes them.
