Guests could show a McDonald’s paper or digital receipt dated October 10–14, 2024, at a participating U.S. Krispy Kreme shop during those same dates to receive one doughnut. The offer has expired, and the planned national McDonald’s expansion never happened.
How the 2024 free-doughnut offer worked
Krispy Kreme announced the promotion on October 10, 2024, alongside the first phase of its planned McDonald’s rollout. According to the company’s announcement, the terms were:

What the McDonald’s rollout was supposed to include
Chicago was the first planned market
Krispy Kreme said its doughnuts were expected to reach participating Chicago-area McDonald’s restaurants on October 15, 2024. The three announced varieties were Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, and Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled. The company described them as available all day while supplies lasted at participating Chicago restaurants.

The national targets were projections, not results
In its 2024 release, Krispy Kreme projected that more than 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants would carry its doughnuts by the end of 2024 and that the partnership would reach 12,000 restaurants by the end of 2026. Those were targets announced at the time, not achieved totals.
Why the national expansion did not happen
The companies ended their partnership in July 2025. The Associated Press reported that Krispy Kreme doughnuts had reached about 2,400 McDonald’s U.S. restaurants before the partnership ended. That reported count was far short of the 12,000-location goal, and the original nationwide projection was superseded by the termination.
Rank #2
- Krispy Kreme gift cards can be redeemed at US participating locations.
- Redeemable in-store
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
When the partnership was announced, Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth said, “The top request we receive from consumers is for more access to our delicious, fresh doughnuts.” That was the company’s promotional rationale for the deal, not independent evidence measuring consumer demand.

No. The receipt offer was valid only October 10–14, 2024. It is not a current McDonald’s receipt benefit, and the companies’ partnership ended in July 2025.
