Lewis Capaldi released “The Day That I Die” on 14 November 2025 as the final track on his four-song Survive EP. The song and the original Survive EP were released together on 14 November 2025, according to Universal Music Canada’s announcement. The original EP has four tracks, with “The Day That I Die” in the closing position. The artist store lists the same sequence and date on its CD listing; Universal Music Japan also lists the digital EP with that date and track order.

Apple Music’s US catalogue entry describes the original as a four-song, 13-minute release. Its editorial description calls the closer a piano ballad that grows toward a stadium-anthem scale; that is Apple Music’s characterization, not a quoted statement from Capaldi.
What did Capaldi say the song is about?
Universal Music Canada reported that Capaldi connected the song to a time when he said onstage, “I didn’t think I would be here anymore.” The label describes the track as vulnerable and personal. That reported remark offers context for the song, but it should not be treated as a clinical diagnosis or a complete account of his health. Universal Music Japan gives a similar account on its regional release page, rather than providing an independent interview transcript.

Why do some listings show five tracks?
Amazon Music lists a later five-song edition dated 17 April 2026 under the name “Amazon Music Original.” It opens with “The Day That I Die (Orchestral Version – Amazon Music Original),” followed by the four tracks from the original EP. The two listings therefore refer to different editions:

Is the EP available on CD or vinyl?
The official artist store lists a CD containing the original four-track sequence, and the official artist site advertises a CD EP and limited-edition white vinyl. Those listings establish the formats, not current stock, prices, or shipping availability. Check the relevant official listing for availability in your territory.
