What is Hotel Costiera about?
Jesse Williams plays Daniel De Luca, a former U.S. Marine with Italian roots who works as a fixer at a luxury hotel in Positano. He handles guests’ problems while searching for Alice, the hotel owner’s missing daughter. That dual setup gives the series a stream of small, self-contained troubles alongside a broader mystery. Amazon’s official viewing guide describes the premise and names Williams, Maria Chiara Giannetta and Sam Haygarth among the cast.
The first season has six episodes. Prime Video’s season listing includes episode summaries and identifies the series as a 2025 title.

The Amalfi Coast setting gives the show an immediate holiday-like sheen. The luxury hotel supplies a steady parade of guest problems, while the coastal backdrop keeps the tone inviting rather than grim. The tone stays light and the pace moves
The series mixes character trouble with comedy and quick bursts of action instead of leaning into sustained intensity. In its review, Tom’s Guide called it “perfectly enjoyable, easy viewing” and described it as a possible “slice of escapist, trouble-in-paradise action.” That is a useful expectation-setter: it aims for a pleasant binge, not a demanding puzzle or a high-stakes thriller. Tom’s Guide’s review also highlights the cast and the show’s uncomplicated appeal.
Who is it for—and who might want something else?
- Give it a try if you want attractive coastal scenery, accessible character stories and light action that does not ask for close attention.
- Choose another show if you want intricate plotting, sustained suspense or large-scale action. Tom’s Guide’s reviewer describes the chases and fights as relatively simple and says the series does not reach the very best of Prime Video’s lineup.
That is a question of mood more than a flaw with a single right answer: Hotel Costiera is most rewarding when you want relaxed entertainment, not when you are looking for your next must-watch series.
