A report published October 1, 2025, describes a time-lapse video from the official The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power social account showing an actor being made up as an Orc or Uruk. It attributes the transformation to makeup and prosthetics, but the original post was not available for direct verification, so the clip’s details—and whether it was made specifically for Season 3—remain unconfirmed.
What the orc transformation report says
CBR’s report, carried by IMDb and dated October 1, 2025, says an Instagram post from the series’ official account showed the process of turning an actor into an Orc or Uruk. The report characterizes the footage as a sped-up makeup transformation involving prosthetics.
That is secondary reporting, not confirmation from the underlying social post: the post itself could not be checked. The report’s headline associates the video with Season 3, but its provenance is not independently established. The available information does not identify the performer, the specific prosthetics or makeup materials, or any brands used.
Is the video confirmed to be from Season 3?
No. The report connects the tease to the upcoming season, but the available evidence does not verify that the social clip was created for Season 3. It is safest to describe it as a reported transformation video associated with the show, rather than confirmed Season 3 footage.

It should also be distinguished from Prime Video’s separately listed three-minute Season 3 bonus feature, “Bringing Season 3 Creatures to Life.” The listing identifies a creature-making bonus, but does not establish that it is the same video reported in 2025.
When does The Rings of Power Season 3 premiere?
As of October 8, 2026, Amazon’s official season guide lists the premiere for November 11, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. The first four episodes are scheduled for that date in more than 240 countries and territories; episodes five and six are scheduled for November 18, and the final two for November 25.

Amazon places the season several years after Season 2, during the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron. Its synopsis says Sauron is seeking to forge the One Ring. These official season details provide context for the upcoming story, but do not verify the origin of the reported makeup clip.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is established about the creature-making material?
The report supports a limited conclusion: the clip was described as a sped-up transformation using makeup and prosthetics. The official bonus listing confirms that Prime Video has a separate Season 3 feature about bringing creatures to life. Neither source identifies the production’s specific techniques, products, or the relationship between the bonus and the reported social video.
