Lisandra Silva dijo que se inyectó Ozempic una vez y que, después de sentir una fuerte bajada de azúcar, terminó en una clínica. El episodio fue relatado en una publicación suya reproducida por BioBioChile el 5 de noviembre de 2024; no hay un registro clínico independiente que confirme el diagnóstico, la causa o la dosis.
Qué contó Lisandra Silva sobre la hospitalización
BioBioChile informó que Silva, modelo cubana residente en Estados Unidos, dijo haber consultado a un médico antes de inyectarse el medicamento. Según el medio, ella contó que lo probó una vez, sintió que podía desmayarse y pidió ayuda al padre de sus hijos. La cobertura reprodujo sus palabras: “Gracias a Dios no pasó nada pero sentí que me moría y llegué a la clinica en silla de ruedas”.
Veja Saúde publicó también el relato y señaló que Silva suspendió la terapia después de la crisis. Esa nota, actualizada el 5 de junio de 2026, es otra cobertura de su versión pública, no una confirmación médica independiente. Las fuentes disponibles no establecen cuál fue la dosis ni qué otros factores pudieron intervenir.
¿Ozempic puede causar una bajada de azúcar?
Ozempic contiene semaglutida, que imita la hormona GLP-1. Según la FDA, entre sus efectos está estimular la producción de insulina y contribuir a reducir la glucosa en sangre. La información del caso no basta para concluir que el medicamento causó clínicamente la hipoglucemia que Silva describió ni para determinar el mecanismo del episodio.

Ozempic y Wegovy no tienen la misma indicación
Ambos productos contienen semaglutida, pero sus indicaciones aprobadas no son idénticas. La FDA describe Ozempic inyectable como un medicamento de receta que, junto con dieta y ejercicio, se usa para reducir la glucosa en adultos con diabetes tipo 2; también cuenta con una indicación para reducir ciertos riesgos cardiovasculares en adultos con diabetes tipo 2 y enfermedad cardíaca conocida.

Wegovy inyectable es semaglutida aprobada por la FDA para ayudar a perder y mantener el peso en adultos y en niños desde los 12 años con obesidad, y en algunas personas adultas con sobrepeso y problemas médicos asociados al peso. Por eso, no es preciso presentar Ozempic como si tuviera la misma indicación para bajar de peso que Wegovy.

- Lo publicado atribuye a Silva el relato de una aplicación, una fuerte bajada de azúcar y una posterior visita a una clínica.
- Las fuentes consultadas no aportan un historial clínico que confirme el diagnóstico, la causa médica, la dosis o posibles factores concurrentes.
- La FDA ha advertido de errores de dosis y hospitalizaciones relacionados con productos compuestos de semaglutida. Esa alerta trata sobre medicamentos compuestos y no demuestra que Silva usara uno, que tuviera una sobredosis o que ese fuera el motivo de su episodio.
- Un caso individual no permite concluir que todas las personas que usan semaglutida tendrán una reacción similar.
La doctora Eliana Reyes, directora de la Escuela de Nutrición y Dietética de la Universidad de los Andes, dijo a BioBioChile: “Es muy importante que el uso de Ozempic para la pérdida de peso sea supervisado por un profesional de la salud. La pérdida de peso debe ser parte de un enfoque integral que incluya dieta, ejercicio y cambios en el estilo de vida”.
