Ivan Cornejo released MIRADA on July 18, 2024, through Zaragoza Records and Interscope Records. The 12-song album keeps heartbreak and longing at its center while bringing alternative-rock colors into his sad sierreño sound. Cornejo described its intended atmosphere as “a nostalgic summer night.”

MIRADA arrived July 18, 2024. Cornejo’s official site listed the album with the date “7/18/24,” and GRAMMY.com and Rolling Stone Canada reported the same release date. Cornejo’s official site, GRAMMY.com, and Rolling Stone Canada provide those confirmations.
Some physical-catalog listings show August 23, 2024. That conflicts with the official artist listing and contemporaneous coverage; the August date appears in catalog copy and should not be treated as the album’s release date.
What is the album about?
MIRADA continues Cornejo’s intimate, heartbreak-centered songwriting. In a GRAMMY.com interview, he said, “I write about emotions that everyone goes through or has been through.” The album’s focus is personal, but its emotional territory—longing, hurt and relationship fallout—is broadly recognizable.

Cornejo called the project his major-label debut. He discussed working with more creative voices in the studio than on earlier work, with Frank Rio named as the producer. Cornejo said, “I wanted the Mirada theme to feel like a nostalgic summer night.” He also pictured listeners playing the songs with friends, at the beach or alone. That description gives the album a mood rather than prescribing one way to hear it: the songs can suit a shared late-summer setting or solitary listening.
