Spoilers for the Invincible season 3 finale. Conquest is not dead: the Global Defense Agency (GDA) has him alive in a secure facility beneath Earth. The finale also includes a Damien Darkblood mid-credits scene, but no separate post-credits scene. Season 4 is now streaming, while seasons 5 and 6 have been announced.
Is Conquest dead at the end of season 3?
No. Although Mark appears to defeat Conquest in the finale, the episode reveals that the GDA has taken the Viltrumite alive. He is being held in a secure facility six miles beneath Earth’s surface. The agency intends to question him about the Viltrum Empire if he wakes up.

The episode does not show Conquest recovering, or say when he might wake. His survival is confirmed; what the GDA can learn from him remains uncertain.
What does the Damien Darkblood mid-credits scene mean?
The finale’s mid-credits scene shows Damien Darkblood summoning a superior. He describes a powerful person living on the surface who could help restore the Dark One to the throne. The scene establishes a new thread for the television adaptation, but does not identify that person or explain the full plan.

So far, the stinger is a premise rather than an answer: the target and the Dark One’s intentions are left unresolved. This plot thread is new to the television adaptation, rather than a storyline carried over from the comics.
Is there a post-credits scene?
No separate post-credits scene is reported. Damien Darkblood appears during the mid-credits scene; the two terms are not interchangeable.

What else does the finale leave unresolved?
Mark’s willingness to kill
Mark tells Oliver that he understands Oliver’s argument: he may have to kill people who threaten those he loves. It marks a change in how Mark thinks about violence, but does not prove he will kill every opponent he faces.
The Sequids
The ending shows Rus Livingston under Sequid control alongside other human hosts. Their presence suggests the threat has not been contained, but the finale does not spell out what happens next.

Will there be an Invincible season 4?
Yes. Season 4 is already streaming on Prime Video. Amazon’s guide, updated July 1, 2026, says all four seasons are available there. The question is no longer whether season 4 will happen, but what comes after it.
Are seasons 5 and 6 confirmed?
Yes. Skybound Entertainment announced season 6 on June 25, 2026, confirming it alongside season 5. Skybound said season 5 was slated for 2027, but the cited announcement does not give an exact release date. A season announcement is not the same as a confirmed premiere date.

Robert Kirkman, a co-creator of the series, said, “There’s still so much story left to tell, and I can’t wait for fans to see what’s ahead in seasons 5, 6 and beyond.” The animated adaptation draws on the comic series co-created by Kirkman and Cory Walker, with Ryan Ottley later joining as a contributing creator. Skybound says the comic ran for 15 years and 146 issues; those figures describe the comics, not the television series.
