Hulu’s season-specific cast list does not include her; its broader talent-bios page still does. Those pages establish different things, and neither confirms whether she will appear in a future season.
What Demi’s status is in Season 5
Hulu’s Season 5 press page names Taylor Frankie Paul, Jen Affleck, Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Miranda Hope and Whitney Leavitt. Demi is not on that current-season roster. Hulu says the five-episode season premiered all at once on September 10, 2026. Hulu’s Season 5 press page is the clearest official source for who is named as part of this season.

Marie Claire reports that Demi is mentioned in Season 5 but does not appear on screen. That is a report about the season’s content, not an official Hulu statement about her future with the show. Marie Claire’s September 2026 update provides that screen-presence detail.
Why viewers may think she is leaving
She stepped back from filming
TMZ reported on March 13, 2026, that Demi had stepped back from Season 4 filming and cameras, attributing the decision to what she felt was best for her mental health. This explains why her presence on the show had already diminished, but it was not an announcement that she had permanently quit. TMZ’s report describes the filming step-back.

Her Season 4 role was limited
Us Weekly described Demi’s Season 4 role as limited and reported on April 27, 2026, that an official exit had not been confirmed at that time. That reporting predates Season 5 and should not be mistaken for a current announcement about her plans. Us Weekly’s cast update covers the earlier status.
What Hulu’s pages do—and do not—confirm
Hulu’s general talent-bios page still lists Demi Engemann. Because it is a broader biography page rather than a season-specific cast roster, her presence there does not establish that she is returning. Conversely, her omission from the Season 5 cast list establishes that she is not named for that season; it does not, on its own, prove a permanent exit.
No direct, date-stamped statement from Demi or Hulu in the available sources confirms that she has permanently left. The careful answer is therefore that she is absent from Season 5 and her long-term status is unresolved.

Other cast members have made separate announcements, but those do not settle Demi’s status. The Los Angeles Times reported on September 21, 2026, that Taylor Frankie Paul was stepping away; the same report covered Mikayla Matthews’ announcement and Whitney Leavitt’s earlier plan to leave after Season 5. Those developments concern their own plans, not a confirmed decision by Demi. The Los Angeles Times report distinguishes those cast updates.
