The best-documented aircraft associated with Elton John is not a jet he is known to own today: it is the Boeing 720 called The Starship, which he rented for touring in the 1970s. Later aviation-photo records associate him with a Bombardier Global Express registered M-EDZE, but they do not establish who owns it now or what its cabin is like today.
The Starship: a touring aircraft, not a confirmed personal jet
Elton John rented the Boeing 720 known as The Starship for touring. Private Jet Insider reports that the aircraft supported 134 U.S. shows between August 1973 and 1976, with North American cities serving as tour bases. That account describes a working arrangement for a demanding tour schedule, not evidence that John owned the aircraft.
A Terry O’Neill photograph archive independently places John with the Boeing 720 on his 1974 U.S. tour. Its caption says the image was published in the Daily Mirror on October 16, 1974. Iconic Images’ archive entry helps anchor the Starship to that tour period.
What the Starship’s cabin was reportedly like
Private Jet Insider describes three public spaces aboard the Starship: the Club Room, Grand Salon, and Gallery. It also reports a bar with a piano built into the counter. These are details from that outlet’s account, rather than independently verified cabin specifications.

The same 2022 article reports the 1973 tour rental at $2,500 per day and $5 per mile. Those are historical figures attributed to Private Jet Insider, not a current charter rate or a price confirmed here against an original contract. Read the outlet’s account of the Starship.
The later association: Bombardier Global Express M-EDZE
A later aircraft associated with John in aviation records is a Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global Express registered M-EDZE. JetPhotos captions identify it as Sir Elton John’s plane in a photograph dated June 17, 2019, and say it was carrying him for the Farewell Tour in a photograph dated June 15, 2022. These dated captions document an association at those times; they do not prove present ownership.

Private Jet Insider says the registration’s letters refer to Elton, David, Zachary, and Elijah. Its article also gives cabin and performance details, but those specifications are not corroborated by the dated photo records. The available sources do not establish M-EDZE’s current owner, present configuration, or a current interior tour.
How to distinguish celebrity-jet claims from cabin evidence
VIP aircraft can have highly customized interiors, so amenities described for one aircraft should not be transferred to another. For comparison only, RoyalJet describes VVIP interiors with features including a stateroom, lounge, shower, reclining seats, cabin lighting, and entertainment. Silver Air’s 2020 release describes a separate 18-passenger Boeing Business Jet charter aircraft with a bedroom, shower, conference room, lounge, multiple lavatories, internet, and galley appliances. Neither operator’s material verifies the interior of the Starship or M-EDZE.
