What aircraft did Mark Cuban describe owning?
In a 2010 interview with Business Jet Traveler, Cuban said he had a Gulfstream V, a Boeing 757 for the Mavericks, and a Boeing 767 rented out for high-end charter. His remarks are the clearest direct account of the collection, but they are historical: they do not establish the aircraft’s current ownership, use, or availability.

The Gulfstream V: Cuban’s account of buying it
Cuban said he researched Gulfstream’s website, arranged a demonstration flight for his pilot, and then bought the aircraft. The 2010 interview reported a purchase price of $40 million. That is a historical figure attributed to that interview, not a current valuation.
“I did the research at the Gulfstream Web site and then sent an e-mail and asked to set up a demo flight for my pilot. He raved about it. So I sent another e-mail saying I wanted to buy it. I got the banking instructions, wired the money and that was it.”

He described the practical appeal in terms of time and family: the jet let him travel after late games, make work meetings, and attend family events while traveling comfortably with his family. “It means I have more hours in my day to spend with friends and family. It means I can get more work done. It means I can travel comfortably with my family. It’s a life- and game-changer,” he said in the interview.
What the FAA record says about N718MC
The FAA’s Aircraft Inquiry for N718MC identifies the aircraft as a Gulfstream Aerospace G-V, serial number 5061, manufactured in 2004, with valid registration to Radical Ventures LLC. The record identifies the registered aircraft and registrant; it does not establish that Cuban is the beneficial owner or operator. The FAA also cautions that its registration information does not determine airworthiness or the aircraft’s current configuration.

AeroCorner’s October 1, 2026 article identifies N718MC as a G550, which conflicts with the FAA’s G-V model listing. The FAA entry is the more direct record for the aircraft’s registered model, so calling N718MC a G550 as settled fact is not supported by that record.
The Mavericks’ Boeing 757
Cuban said, “I own the Boeing 757 for the Mavs.” A June 30, 2002 Dallas Morning News report reproduced in a USPTO proceeding described the Mavericks’ 757 as the team’s road-game aircraft. Together, these sources place the jet in the team-travel role historically; they do not show who owns or operates it now.

The Boeing 767 and charter use
In the same 2010 interview, Cuban said, “I own a 767 we rent out for high-end charter.” That is evidence of its reported role then. The interview does not identify a current charter operator, establish whether the aircraft is still in service, or show that it can be booked today.

The available evidence supports an account of aircraft Cuban described in 2010, alongside a current FAA registration record for N718MC. It does not verify a present-day fleet inventory. In particular, the FAA record’s listing of Radical Ventures LLC does not prove Cuban’s personal ownership, and the historical interview does not resolve whether the 757 or 767 remains in the roles he described.
