Olivier Martinez’s marriage to Halle Berry ended in 2015, but their divorce was not finalized until August 2023. Since then, public coverage has focused less on a new screen career than on his relatively low profile and a continuing, disputed custody conflict over their son, Maceo. As of October 8, 2026, reporting described the latest court matter as unresolved, with a hearing expected in mid-October.
From separation to a finalized divorce
Berry and Martinez married in France in July 2013. They announced their separation and filed for divorce in October 2015, but the legal process continued for eight years. Their divorce was finalized in August 2023, with an agreement that included joint custody of Maceo.
The Los Angeles Times reported in 2026 that the 2023 settlement required Berry to pay $8,000 per month in child support and 4.3% of income above $2 million. Those are reported terms of the settlement, not independently confirmed information about what either parent currently pays.
Why the custody dispute remains in the news
The 2024 filings
In August 2024, Berry sought sole custody and alleged that Martinez was not cooperating in co-parenting and joint decisions about their son. Martinez disputed her account in court filings, saying Berry had constructed a false narrative and was seeking to diminish his role. The Los Angeles Times reported the competing positions; they are allegations, not findings that establish either parent’s account.

The latest reported court developments
In late September and early October 2026, Martinez sought changes to custody and a domestic-violence restraining order, based on allegations about an incident involving Berry and their son, according to the Los Angeles Times. Berry denied physically or emotionally abusing her son in a court declaration and gave her account of the incident, as reported by EL PAÍS. The reports available on October 8 said a hearing was expected in mid-October; they do not establish its outcome. A request for a court order is not itself a final custody decision.

A profile published by AS.com on August 25, 2025, characterized Martinez as having moved away from the spotlight. It said he had appeared in only three films since 2018 and named Mosquito State (2020), a Polish-American psychological thriller, as his last screen appearance at that time. The profile also associated him with earlier titles including S.W.A.T.. These details describe the profile’s account as of 2025; they do not confirm that he has done no subsequent work or provide a complete 2026 filmography.
