Tayla and Nathan Broad’s Perth “passion project” is a new family home documented on Instagram as LynnBuild. The couple announced the account in March 2025 after saying they had bought a coastal Perth property sight unseen in 2020. By May 2026, the old house was being demolished and pool installation work had begun; the latest report did not say the home was finished or give a completion date.
What the Broads announced
On 4 March 2025, PerthNow reported that Tayla and Nathan Broad had launched LynnBuild, an Instagram account intended to document their Perth home-building project. The announcement included a rendered design showing the exterior they hoped to create.
Tayla said they bought the house in 2020 without seeing it because of COVID, drawn by its location metres from the beach rather than the existing building. “We realised we’d be starting fresh, diving into design, styling, and building to create a truly special home,” she said. She described the project as a creative undertaking and a family home, anticipating some disagreements along the way.
Who is involved in the project?
In the 2025 announcement, Tayla named AMG Home Builders and Australian home designer David Wilkes as collaborators. She said LynnBuild would record the highs and lows of the process and give her a way to show her styling and creative work. Those details reflect what she told PerthNow at the time; the report did not independently document the project arrangements.

What is the latest reported construction status?
A follow-up published on 28 May 2026 identified the property as being on Lynn Street in Trigg. PerthNow reported that the old house was being demolished to make way for a new home and that work to install a backyard pool had begun. The couple said the project was already one year behind schedule. The update described demolition and pool work, not a completed home, and supplied no confirmed finish date.
When are the Broads expected to return to Western Australia?
The May 2026 report said the family was expected to return to Western Australia at the end of 2026. That was a plan reported at the time, not confirmation that the move later took place. The same article quoted Nathan saying he intended to end his AFL career with Richmond at the end of that year: “I’m going to hang them up at the end of the year.” He also said, “I had my fun and now it’s time to give back to my family and my wife and daughter. It’s going to be sad but I have had a pretty good run at it.”

The project’s public record, as described in these two reports, has moved from a 2025 announcement of the couple’s plans to a 2026 update on demolition and pool installation.
