The extended trailer for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes adds a longer chase passage and more action near the end, but its central tension is moral: Noa begins to question whether humans should be treated as prey. What is new in the extended trailer?
The trailer revisits familiar footage from Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, then extends a chase sequence and adds further set pieces toward the end. The extra footage gives the pursuit more room to unfold; it does not signal a separate film or a different story. Gizmodo’s April 1, 2024 coverage described the longer chase and the added closing action.

Why is the hunt important to Noa?
Noa, played by Owen Teague through performance capture, is presented as questioning the assumption that humans are inferior and can be hunted. He recalls the possibility that apes and humans once lived alongside one another, placing the chase within a larger conflict about what the past means and who gets to shape the future.
That conflict fits the film’s premise. 20th Century Studios says the story takes place several generations after Caesar’s reign, when apes hold power and humans live in the shadows. A new tyrannical ape leader is building an empire; Noa’s journey challenges what he believes about the past and forces choices affecting both species.
