What is the viral Dubai chocolate bar?
FIX Dessert Chocolatier calls its original bar Can’t Get Knafeh of It. The company describes it as a chocolate shell with pistachio kunafa filling and crunchy kataifi pastry. Kataifi is shredded phyllo dough; kunafa is a pastry dessert associated with the Middle East. FIX lists the bar at 120 g and says it is made in Dubai. “Dubai chocolate” is also used for a broader style of chocolate bar, commonly combining chocolate, pistachio cream and crisp kataifi or kunafa pastry. A bar using that style is not necessarily made in Dubai. FIX itself makes that distinction, but its explanation is the company’s own position; for any individual product, confirm the country of origin on its label or through its manufacturer. Why did it go viral?
FIX introduced its sweets in 2021, according to the Associated Press. Influencers on Instagram and TikTok helped popularize them. The appeal is easy to understand from the format: a thick bar promises a contrast between chocolate and a nutty pastry filling. That description explains the concept, not how this specific bar tastes. FIX’s own words about smooth pistachio cream and crunch are product copy, not an independent tasting review.
What can—and can’t—be said about the taste?
Without a firsthand tasting, it would be misleading to call the bar especially sweet, balanced, crunchy, rich, or any other sensory verdict. The product description identifies the intended components—chocolate, pistachio filling and kataifi—but it does not establish their proportions or how they come across in a bite. A genuine review should distinguish observed texture and flavor from the manufacturer’s description, and should identify which bar was tasted.

Ingredients, allergens and dietary checks
FIX’s product page lists dairy, tree nuts (pistachio), wheat and soy as allergens for this bar. Its FAQ says FIX bars contain dairy and that some contain gluten; those broader statements should not replace the ingredient and allergen information for the exact product. Where to buy the original FIX bar
FIX directs buyers to its official channels and warns about unauthorized sellers. How the trend spread beyond FIX
Other makers have released Dubai-style bars, which makes it important to separate a style from a specific product. The Associated Press reported that Lindt released a separate Dubai-style bar in selected shops in Germany and Switzerland in November 2024. The report said 1,000 bars were released in selected German shops, with a similar campaign planned in Switzerland at that time. When considering another bar, check its name, maker, country of origin, ingredient list, allergen statement, size and seller. Photos alone cannot confirm whether a filling contains real pistachio or kataifi, and a “Dubai-style” label does not establish that a product was made in Dubai.
