Jimmy Hart was reported to have said Hulk Hogan was “doing phenomenal” two days before Hogan died on July 24, 2025. That public reassurance is not a medical finding: later reporting identified Hogan’s cause of death as an acute myocardial infarction, or heart attack. The available reports do not establish what Hart knew about Hogan’s health or that Hart explicitly denied a diagnosis.
What did Jimmy Hart say about Hulk Hogan?
A July 24, 2025, report by The Daily Beast said Hart had described Hogan as “doing phenomenal” on July 22, amid rumors about Hogan’s health. The report also said Hart mentioned that Hogan had done karaoke earlier that week.
The wording matters. The contemporaneous report supports that Hart publicly offered a positive description; it does not document a specific statement denying a diagnosis. It also does not establish that Hart knew Hogan’s full medical condition.
What happened in the two days that followed?
- July 22, 2025: Hart was reported to have said Hogan was “doing phenomenal.”
- July 24, 2025: Hogan, whose legal name was Terry Gene Bollea, died at age 71 in Clearwater, Florida. The Associated Press reported that medics responded to a morning cardiac-arrest call and that Hogan was pronounced dead at a hospital less than 90 minutes after arriving at his home.
- July 31, 2025: The AP and ABC News reported that the medical examiner listed the cause of death as a heart attack, or acute myocardial infarction.
- June 2026: The AP reported that Clearwater Police had closed its investigation, finding no evidence of criminal wrongdoing and describing the death as natural.
On July 24, police said there were no signs of foul play or suspicious activity, according to the Associated Press. WWE also confirmed Hogan’s death in a statement reproduced by ABC News.

What was Hulk Hogan’s cause of death?
Later medical reporting identified acute myocardial infarction—commonly called a heart attack—as the cause. ABC News said this information came from Hogan’s cremation report obtained through the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center; the AP also reported the medical examiner’s finding.
Those reports noted a history of atrial fibrillation and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. They do not establish that either condition caused Hogan’s heart attack, or explain what Hart knew when he spoke.

Does Hart’s comment mean he knew Hogan was seriously ill?
The public record described here cannot answer that. It establishes the reported remark and its timing, not Hart’s private knowledge, intent, or access to Hogan’s medical information. The two-day interval is striking context, but it is not evidence that Hart was deceiving the public or foresaw Hogan’s death.
In June 2026, the AP reported that Clearwater Police concluded there was no evidence Hogan’s death was anything other than natural. The report also described how an occupational therapist’s early remarks fueled speculation about surgical nerve damage; the therapist later said he had been rattled by CPR and was speaking out of turn. Police reportedly found no criminal wrongdoing, and a private autopsy supported the heart-attack assessment.
