Hugh Jackman appears as a deliberately over-the-top version of himself in the Rick and Morty season seven premiere. The animated cameo turns a visit to his mancave into a chaotic party, complete with a Tony Award used for target practice, self-portraits, and a singalong to Billy Ocean’s “Caribbean Queen.”
Which Rick and Morty episode features Hugh Jackman?
Jackman’s cameo is in the season seven premiere, according to Wenlei Ma’s October 17, 2023 PerthNow article. He plays an exaggerated animated version of himself, not a documentary portrayal of the real actor.

What happens during Jackman’s cameo?
In Ma’s account, Rick meets Jackman at a club while the group is consoling a friend about his ex-wife. Jackman invites them to his mancave, where the evening spirals into a string of comic set pieces:
- The group parties, and a character warns that Jackman is a “loose unit” when he parties.
- He uses his Tony Award for target practice.
- The mancave includes nude portraits of Jackman.
- He sings and dances to Billy Ocean’s “Caribbean Queen.”
- The party escalates into a fight with aliens.
These are scenes from a fictional animated performance. They should not be read as claims about Jackman’s real-life conduct.

What is the wedding-photo joke?
Ma also describes a gag in which the animated Jackman looks at a wedding photograph of himself and Deborra-Lee Furness and says, “The best bloody day of my life”. The line belongs to the character in the episode; it is not a current statement by Jackman or evidence of his present feelings or relationship status.
The article discussed the joke in the context of the couple’s separation announcement the month before it was published, while noting that animated episodes are made months before broadcast. That is historical context for the 2023 article, not an update on either person’s life today.
