During Love Island USA Season 7’s “Hearts on Fire” challenge, Huda danced for Ace, and many Islanders felt the intensity of her moves crossed a line. Chelley was especially upset. The episode recap documents their reaction, but it does not establish Huda’s intent; Huda later said she performed the same routine for the other men.
What happened between Huda and Ace during the heart rate challenge?
The moment came after Casa Amor, during Season 7’s “Hearts on Fire” challenge. Islanders wore smart watches to monitor their heart rates while performing dances for one another. Huda pulled Ace for her dance. Peacock’s Week 4 recap says many Islanders felt the intensity of her moves went too far, with Chelley particularly upset.
Ace and Chelley had reconnected by then, but they had not closed off their relationship. They were still talking through what their connection meant and where its boundaries stood. That made Huda’s dance a flashpoint in an unresolved conversation between the couple, rather than an incident with an agreed-upon rule everyone understood the same way.
Why was Chelley upset?
The recap describes an immediate argument between Chelley and Ace about their behavior and how they were defining boundaries. Chelley was also unhappy with Huda. Huda tried to apologize, but Chelley did not want to talk at that moment, according to Peacock’s account.

The available recap establishes the disagreement and Chelley’s reaction; it does not quote a specific boundary agreement between Ace and Chelley or show that Huda had been told about one. The difference matters: being upset by the dance is clear in the account, while the sources do not settle whether Huda knowingly crossed a boundary.
How did Huda explain the dance?
In a July 17, 2025 interview with Elite Daily, Huda said she did not favor or specifically target Ace. She said she did the same routine for the other men and framed the performance as part of the challenge. “There was no favoritism in my eyes. I think I did it to everybody,” she told interviewer Hannah Kerns.

Huda also pointed to other Islanders kissing her partner, Chris, during challenges. Her defense reflects her perspective, not an independent account of every dance or how the episode was edited. She summed up her position by saying, “It’s not my fault.”
Did Huda take things too far with Ace?
“Too far” is the reaction Peacock attributes to many Islanders, not a proven finding about Huda’s intent. The official recap and Huda’s later interview support two points at once: the dance upset Chelley and others, while Huda said she did not single Ace out. The sources do not resolve that disagreement.

In the immediate aftermath described by Peacock’s Week 4 recap, Huda attempted to apologize and Chelley declined to speak with her then. A later Week 5 recap search-result snippet says they subsequently discussed the issue, Huda apologized for making Chelley feel that way, and they hugged as they repaired their friendship. Because that later detail comes from a search-result snippet rather than an accessible full recap, it should be treated as a limited account of the follow-up.
