Where to place the My Hero Academia movies
Crunchyroll News’ viewing guide groups the four anime-original feature films with these points in the series. The placements are a practical viewing recommendation, not a requirement for understanding the main plot. Crunchyroll News viewing guide.
#1 Best Overall
| Watch after | Film |
|---|---|
| Season 3 | My Hero Academia: Two Heroes |
| Season 4 | My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising |
| Season 5 | My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission |
| Season 7 | My Hero Academia: You’re Next |
The guide’s placement for Two Heroes falls during the Season 3 material it discusses. You can follow that placement if you want the film break to align with the guide, or finish Season 3 before watching the movie to avoid interrupting the season. The other suggested placements are after their respective seasons.
Optional OVAs, specials, and spin-off
OVAs and specials
Crunchyroll’s guide also lists these optional companion titles:
Rank #2
- Music Videos Promo Videos Textless Opening & Ending Songs
- Make It! Do-or-Die Survival Training!
- HLB
- Laugh! As if you are in hell
- U.A. Heroes Battle
They are extras rather than required entries in the main season order. The guide gives suggested breaks for them, but skipping them leaves the main sequence intact.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
Vigilantes, including its Seasons 1 and 2, is a separate spin-off series. The viewing guide does not establish a required point to insert it into the main anime chronology, so watch it as companion material rather than treating it as a numbered main-series season.

Choose the viewing route that suits you
- For the least complicated watch: Watch Seasons 1–7 and then FINAL SEASON. Save the movies and extras for later.
- To include the films along the way: Use the table’s placements, bearing in mind that the first film can interrupt Season 3 if you follow the guide’s finer placement.
- For uninterrupted seasons: Finish each season in order, then watch the optional films and specials afterward.
Where to watch
Crunchyroll’s My Hero Academia page lists episodes and subtitle options. Catalogs vary by territory, and that listing does not establish that every season, film, dub, or special is available in every country. Check licensed services in your location and verify each movie separately.
