Spoilers ahead. NYT Strands puzzle #146, from July 27, 2024, has the theme clue “Bedtime story.” Its spangram is GOODNIGHTMOON, and the six theme words are MUSH, NOBODY, CLOCKS, SOCKS, MITTENS, and KITTENS.

“Bedtime story” points toward a familiar children’s book and the things associated with settling in for the night. If you want to preserve some of the puzzle, look for a recognizable book title that fits the clue before reading the complete answer list below.
Spangram for Strands #146
The spangram is GOODNIGHTMOON, a reference to the children’s book Goodnight Moon. In Strands, the spangram describes the puzzle’s theme and stretches between opposite sides of the grid.

Together, the words evoke the bedtime setting and imagery associated with the book.
